I don't typically gravitate toward young adult novels or sci-fi, but "19" completely won me over. The dual-POV narrative was not only engaging but also brilliantly crafted, weaving stories within stories in a way that felt fresh and captivating. Jessica’s journey from an innocent child to a skilled secret agent was both thrilling and emotional, and the unfolding mystery around her death kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
What really stood out to me, though, was how 19 managed to balance action with depth. The fight scenes, filled with tension and high stakes, rival some of the best I’ve read in any genre. And while it’s rooted in the world of espionage and The Agency, there’s a deeper exploration of identity, loss, and how we all grapple with visibility and purpose in life.
Despite it being a young adult novel, 19 easily transcends its genre, offering something for readers of all ages. If you love layered storytelling, compelling characters, and a plot that keeps you guessing until the very end, I highly recommend 19. It’s a gem I didn’t expect to love as much as I did.

When I first picked this up I was skeptical. Spy novels are usually not my jam. But 19 was so much more than I anticipated. I found myself falling in love with the characters, concerned for the challenges they faced, and most of all THIRSTY FOR JUSTICE.
19 holds a special place on my bookshelf for its surprising vulnerability, delightful characters (that I can talk about for hours), and some seriously cool technology. It’s well-paced with heart and punch, and I think we can all find our own reflections in the terror, and freedom, of being fully known by those closest to us.

I really enjoyed this book about a young girl drafted into a global spy agency. Fun characters and an easy-to-read style leaves you wanting more. I feel like we just scratched the surface with the world building. Looking forward to the next one.
