J.S. Pierce, the middle daughter of a father who served as a US Army Officer and pursued a career in communications, marketing, and media relations, and a mother who was a dedicated educator, immersed herself in books during her formative years. These books became the fuel for her voracious imagination. Despite her extensive reading, she found there was a lack of characters resembling her—a mixed kid whose strength came from what set her apart.
While studying Communications at Temple University, Pierce nurtured the concept of her debut novel “19.” – coaxing the story from the margins of her class notes into a full-fledged tale for all the other invisible introverts. Drawing inspiration from her father's ability to weave narratives that captivated audiences, and her mother's values of patience, perseverance, and the power of knowledge, she crafted a story that celebrates the strength of embracing one's uniqueness.
